Call 239: Whom Do You Trust?

Walter Cronkite, apparently the most trusted person in the US for many years, has died. This intangible trust thing is vital to healthy societies and economies. We rely on it constantly.

Last week we asked how you manage the info-flood; this week we’d love to know whom you really trust. Let’s name names. (Pip and I, sneaky as we are, recuse ourselves as subjects of this analysis — if that’s possible.)

All together, let’s discuss:

  • Whom do you trust? What did they do to earn that trust?
  • What does it mean that you trust someone? What are the boundaries?
  • How does trust develop? How transitive is it really?
